On Friday, September 26, the Lady Chargers set the tone early with a 25-13 opening set and carried that momentum to a 3-0 win over Cuyahoga (25-13, 25-23, 25-14). Edison State hit .220 as a team, paced by Bailey Poppe (14 kills, .333) and Kylie Green (10 kills, .231). Setter Emma Luedeke dished out 31 assists and added two aces, while Madyson Buckingham (17 digs) and Alana Pernell (14 digs) anchored the defense.
The Lady Chargers returned to action Saturday, September 27, and delivered another sweep, this time defeating Lakeland (25-18, 25-19, 25-17). Edison State showcased balance across the board, with Green (8 kills, 11.5 points) and Poppe (7 kills, 9 points) again leading the way. Hitter Marissa Corner chipped in four kills, while Luedeke directed the offense with 20 assists. Buckingham and Green once again provided steady back-row defense, combining for 19 digs.
Across the two matches, Edison State's offense was both efficient and versatile, while their back-row play kept rallies alive and limited opponent scoring runs. The Lady Chargers finished the weekend 2-0, dropping no sets in six straight and building momentum as conference play continues.
