Lady Chargers Fall in Hard-Fought Battle to WVU Potomac State, 60-56
In a physical and tightly contested matchup on Friday night, the Edison State women's basketball team came up just short, falling 60-56 to visiting WVU Potomac State College.
The Lady Chargers opened the game with strong energy, taking a 31-25 lead into halftime behind disciplined defense and steady scoring. However, WVU Potomac State responded with a big third quarter, outscoring Edison State 23-15 to swing the momentum. Despite multiple late pushes from the Lady Chargers, the Catamounts held on in the closing minutes to secure the four-point victory.
Chargers Highlights
Sophomore Emerson Walker delivered an impressive performance, leading Edison State with 23 points, six rebounds, and two assists while shooting 8-of-17 from the field.
Rylie Homan contributed a strong all-around effort with seven points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals, while Presley Reese added five points, four rebounds, and four steals.
Edison State showed toughness on the boards, finishing with 36 rebounds, and forced 22 turnovers on the defensive end, recording 11 steals as a team.
WVU Potomac State Highlights
WVU Potomac State was paced by Miya Harris, who filled the stat sheet with 21 points, seven rebounds, eight steals, and four assists. Mya Glisan added 19 points and a game-high 10 rebounds to help control the interior.
The Catamounts finished the night shooting 40.7% from the field and capitalized at the free-throw line, going 14-of-19 (73.7%).

The Lady Chargers came back on Saturday afternoon to put together a powerful second-half surge to defeat Henry Ford College 79-56 at home. With balanced scoring, efficient shooting, and strong defensive play, the Lady Chargers secured an impressive victory to close out the weekend slate.
Edison State opened the game with a 24-18 first-quarter lead before Henry Ford responded in the second to tighten the margin. Holding a narrow 39-36 advantage at halftime, the Lady Chargers outscored Henry Ford 20-4 in the third quarter and 20-13 in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Lady Chargers' Standout Performances
The Lady Chargers showcased depth and versatility, with several players making major contributions.
Presley Reese led all Edison State scorers with 18 points, six rebounds, and two assists, shooting an efficient 7-of-16 from the floor.
Jaela Johnson provided a huge spark off the bench, scoring 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including two made threes.
