Lady Chargers Fall to Wayne County

"They executed really well in the second half," said Edison State Head Coach Tim McMahon. "We struggled to contain their shooters and couldn't get enough stops when we needed them."
Edison State received a strong performance from Presley Reese, who poured in 16 points on 6-for-21 shooting, including three three-pointers. The freshman guard also dished out four assists and grabbed seven rebounds in 32 minutes of play.
Oliveah Sanders provided a spark off the bench with 15 points on 6-for-12 shooting, including three triples, while adding four rebounds. Rylie Homan contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
The Lady Chargers shot just 32.9% from the field (28-85) but were effective from three-point range, connecting on 7-of-11 attempts (63.6%). Edison State struggled at the free-throw line, making only 12 of 25 attempts (48.0%).
Edison State kept pace early, trailing by just two points at halftime, 41-39. However, Wayne County outscored the Chargers 54-35 in the second half to pull away for the decisive victory. The Wildcats' 29-point fourth quarter sealed the outcome.
Emma Will added eight points and five rebounds for Edison State, while Sadie Larrabee finished with seven points and nine rebounds. Jaela Johnson contributed eight points off the bench.
Edison State is currently 2-1 overall.
