Byrne Named OCCAC Player of the Week

The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference has named Edison State Community College's Mackenzie Byrne (Arcanum HS) the OCCAC Softball Position Player of the Week for April 20-26, 2026.

Byrne is a back-to-back winner following a 7-0 week for the Lady Chargers. The freshman drove in 16 runs and scored 12 more on her own. She racked up 15 hits, including four doubles, a triple, and a home run, to slug .960 for the week. Byrne is now riding an eight-game hitting streak, a stretch highlighted by her six-RBI explosion at Marian University Ancilla.

The Lady Chargers are currently 30-6 overall and 15-3 in the conference.
