Byrne, Pine Named OCCAC Players of the Week

The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference has named Edison State Community College freshman Mackenzie Byrne (Arcanum HS) the OCCAC Softball Position Player of the Week and sophomore Marissa Pine (Graham HS) the OCCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 13-19, 2026.

Byrne went 8-for-17 (.471) with two doubles, a home run, and eight RBIs as the Lady Chargers rattled off six victories. She both scored and drove in at least one run in five of six games.

Pine's career total of weekly laurels moves to eight (seven pitcher, one position player). This week, she racked up three wins in the circle, hurling 16.1 scoreless innings with a wild 31:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Pine's week included two complete game shutouts over league foes Lakeland and Owens, totaling 24 Ks.

The Lady Chargers are currently 24-6 overall and 9-3 in the conference.
