Edison State Community College's softball team earned a road sweep over Tiffin University JV on Wednesday, April 8, winning 8-4 in game one and 10-2 in game two.
Game 1: Edison State 8, Tiffin JV 4
The Lady Chargers opened the doubleheader with an 8-4 victory behind a balanced offensive effort, totaling 15 hits.
Izzy Holp led the way with three hits, while Abigail Kadel added two hits and an RBI. Taylor Bauer collected three hits and drove in a run, and Kasidi Daugherty contributed two RBIs. Jenna Dirksen and Amerie Matthews each added an RBI in the win.
In the circle, Marissa Pine earned the victory, going the distance with 12 strikeouts while allowing four runs (two earned).
Game 2: Edison State 10, Tiffin JV 2
Edison State completed the sweep with a 10-2 win in game two, powered by an explosive offensive performance.
Bauer led the Lady Chargers with two home runs and four RBIs, while Emma Kamerer added two hits and an RBI. Mackenzie Byrne contributed a double and two RBIs, and Holp added an RBI as part of a 10-hit team performance.
Zoey Hodge earned the win in the circle, pitching five innings while allowing two runs (no earned runs) and striking out four.
