Miami University–Middletown came to Edison State on Wednesday. Due to time constraints on when they arrived, the teams agreed to play two five-inning games. In the first game, Kayla Runyon (Tipp City) came on in relief of a great effort by Grace Shaffer (Greenville) to get the win. The Lady Chargers' Nyesha Wright (Greenville) scored in the bottom of the fifth on a wild pitch to win the game. Sidney Unger (Tipp City) had two hits and two RBIs.
In game two, Savannah Wead (Tipp City) started and pitched well. Edison State had a 5-2 lead, but MUM rallied to tie it in the top of the fifth. Darkness would not allow the game to continue, so it was ended in a 5-5 tie. Allie Dodge (Wayne) had two hits and three RBIs for Edison State.
The Lady Chargers have a big series against league foe Bryant & Stratton beginning on Friday at home and then Sunday on the road; both are DHs. After a 1-5 start, Edison State is now 8-6-3 on the season.
