The Lady Chargers Beat Miami U-Hamilton in Game One of Doubleheader, Game Two Tied

The Edison State Community College softball team traveled to Lebanon and took on Miami University–Hamilton in a DH on Wednesday, March 16. The Lady Chargers took game one, holding off a rally in the seventh to win 5-4. Kayla Runyon (Tipp City) took the victory, giving up only two earned runs and striking out seven. She also had two hits, including a triple and two RBIs. Nyesha Wright (Greenville) had three hits and two RBIs. Morgan Pine (Graham) had two hits as well for the Lady Chargers.
In game two, the Lady Chargers were leading 10-3 going into the last of the fifth when Hamilton struck for seven runs. Unfortunate bloop singles were the downfall that led to the game being tied after five. Due to the late hour, the game was stopped at that point. Savannah Wead (Tipp City) pitched well for Edison State. Runyon had two more hits, including another triple and two RBIs. Hanna DeLong (Mechanicsburg) had two doubles and two RBIs. MacKenleigh Greene (Fairbanks) had a triple and two RBIs, and Sidney Unger (Tipp City) finished with three RBIs for Edison State.
The Lady Chargers are now 3-5-1 on the season.
