The game remained tight from start to finish. Hocking led 33-29 after the first half, but Edison State responded with a strong second half. Both teams traded momentum swings throughout the second half, ultimately heading into overtime tied at 85-85.
In the extra session, the Chargers came up with key defensive stops and timely free throws to secure the two-point win.
Edison State Leaders
Sophomore guard Malcolm Curry delivered a standout performance, posting 27 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, shooting 9-for-19 from the floor and 8-for-11 at the line.
Darian Leslie added 24 points and eight rebounds while knocking down three three-pointers. Frank Latham was steady inside, recording a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Off the bench, Daviyon McDonald provided a huge boost with seven points and six rebounds, while Tyler Wyles added six points on 2-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc.
As a team, Edison State shot 43.7% and out-rebounded Hocking 46-37.
