The 6'5" center was an important piece of the Miami Valley Saints HomeSchool basketball team out of Dayton, where he holds the all-time scoring record with 2,892 career points at the varsity level. Thompson averaged 17.1 points throughout high school, including an average of 20.1 points in a single season. His senior year he shot 63% from the field and averaged 8.5 rebounds per game.
The Saints played highly competitive homeschool teams from across the nation, including teams in Texas, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Illinois. The Saints ended their least season ranked 15th in the nation, and Thompson was an invaluable part of that team.
The Edison State men's basketball coaching staff is highly excited and eagerly anticipating what Nick's inside play and rebounding will bring to the Chargers program this season.
Thompson will pursue an Associate Degree in Social Services while attending Edison State Community College.
Edison State's basketball team competes in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and as Division II members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
