Malik Thurman Scores 1,000 Career Points
Malik Thurman, of Dayton, Ohio, scored his 1,000th career point to help lead the Edison State Community College Chargers to a 91-88 victory over Cincinnati State Tech. on Wednesday, February 17th.

Malik Thurman, of Dayton, Ohio, scored his 1,000th career point to help lead the Edison State Chargers to a 91-88 victory over Cincinnati State Tech. on Wednesday, February 17th.
Thurman reached the milestone during the second-half of the game with a jump shot. The 6-foot-2-inch sophomore has been a force on the court averaging 19.9 points per game, making 53.3 percent field goal attempts, making 57.4 percent of free throws, and averaging 7.7 rebounds per game during his two–year career at Edison State.
Thurman has scored 1,005 points during his career and is believed to be the first male athlete at Edison State to have achieved this milestone.
Thurman is coached by Head Coach John Ralph and Assistant Coach David Hurley. "Ever since he began at Edison State, Malik has been an outstanding young man. He has maintained a three–point academic average and he has been the leading scorer for the Chargers for two years now. He is an all around good person and a great citizen," said Coach Ralph.
Thurman and the Chargers will travel to play their final two games of the season at Columbus State Community College on Saturday, February 20 and Sinclair Community College on Saturday, February 27.
