In the opener, Edison State battled early with a four-run second inning to take control, highlighted by timely hitting and aggressive baserunning. Jackson Clark drove in two runs, while Tyler Raker added a pair of RBIs to pace the offense.
Terra State answered late, scoring runs in the fifth and sixth innings to regain the lead. Despite a final push from Edison State in the seventh, the Chargers came up just short, finishing with eight hits in the 6-5 loss.
Edison State bounced back in a big way in game two, using a balanced offensive attack and dominant pitching to secure a 10-0 shutout victory.
Leading the charge offensively was Parker Shannon, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, while Tyler Raker delivered a standout performance, going 3-for-3 with a home run, double, and four RBIs. Clark also contributed with a multi-hit effort, and Garrett Shuttleworth added an RBI.
On the mound, Karson Adkins set the tone with four strong innings, allowing just one hit while striking out eight. Hayden Peters followed in relief, helping secure the shutout as the Chargers limited Terra State to just two hits in the game.
Edison State totaled 12 hits in the nightcap, including extra-base hits from Clark, Raker, and Josh Miller, showcasing a complete team performance.
With the split, Edison State continues to build momentum as conference play starts Friday versus Clark State at 1 p.m. at Athletes in Action.
