Long and Slusher Named OCCAC Athletes of the Week

The Ohio Community College Athletic Association (OCCAC) has named Edison State Community College freshman Jordan Long (Wayne HS) an OCCAC co-Baseball (Position) Player of the Week and freshman Jaren Slusher (Northmont HS) co-Baseball Pitcher of the Week for March 7-13, 2022.

Long connected for a hit in 5-of-8 (.625) at-bats as the Chargers took the series from UC Clermont. He smacked a home run and double to slug 1.125. Long was also responsible for seven runs, driving in five, and scoring two himself. 

Slusher hurled a triumphant 7-inning complete game in a tightly contested 3-2 Charger win over UC Clermont. His defense let him down a bit in allowing two unearned runs to sneak home, but Slusher limited the damage. No earned runs were charged to the freshman as he sat down nine batters down via the K. 

The Edison State baseball team is 3-6 overall.
