Chargers Defeat Milwaukee Tech. at Home Opener

The Charger baseball team opened up this weekend with Milwaukee Tech. coming to town. While bleak weather forced a cancellation of Saturday's doubleheader, the Chargers picked up two wins over Milwaukee Tech. on Sunday 6-2 and 12-10.

In both contests, Edison State had to overcome early deficits to get the win. Game 1 found the Chargers down 2-0 early before rallying for three runs in the third to go ahead and stay ahead.

Offensively, Edison State was lead by Tyler Shamblin with 2h, 2r and Brandt Cronebach with 1h, 1bb, 2rbi's. Samuel Nieves and Keith Olmo each added a couple of RBIs. On the mound, Jeffrey Mefford, Jr. earned the victory going four innings, while Jackson Hobbs pitched three innings of no run baseball to pick up the save. The Chargers won game one 6-2.
