Markus Neff, of Oakwood, Ohio, has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at Cedarville University following his successful career at Edison State Community College.
"Cedarville has a great program, and they will be gaining an outstanding player in Markus," said Scott Jones, Head Baseball Coach at Edison State. "Not only is he a great young man but an excellent player as well. All parts of his game are solid as well as his high baseball IQ."
Offensively Neff was a one-man wrecking crew. In 34 games, Neff had a .348 AVG, 9 HRS, 13 2B's, 46 RBI's, and a .750 slugging percentage.
"Our primary goal as a program is to prepare players to advance to next level of play," added Jones. "We are thrilled for Markus to have this opportunity and wish him the best of luck!"
It was at Edison State where he was able to build a foundation that helped lead him to where he is today. "Playing at Edison State prepared me for the next level in many ways," said Neff. "The experienced coaching staff helped me very much. Not only with my physical tools but also with the mental side of my game which has helped me grow as a player."
"I am very excited for the opportunity to continue my baseball career at Cedarville this coming year," added Neff. "It is a great school and environment that presents a great opportunity both on and off the field."
The 6-foot-4-inch infielder hopes to continue his success while playing at Cedarville. "My goals for this coming season are to help the team in any way I can," said Neff. "I hope to earn a starting role and contribute to a successful season."
Neff will continue his education in sports business management at Cedarville University.
