A full roster of baseball players participated in the College's inaugural Fall World Series: Navy vs. Gold. The series consisted of two Edison State squads battling it out over a series of three scrimmages. The winner of the series earned a steak dinner while the losers were put on field duty.
Game 1: The first game was won 8 to 4 by Edison State's Gold team. Jake Young, of Centerville, led the offense going 3 for 4 with two doubles, just missed a home run by a foot, and earned 5 RBIs. The winning pitcher was Jorge Datil, of Puerto Rico, going 6 strong innings and Jack Minser, of Oakwood, getting the save.
Game 2: The second game consisted of excellent pitching and defense throughout with small ball execution winning it for the Navy squad 2 to 1. The winning pitcher was Andrew McNeal, of St. Paris, pitching 5 strong innings and the save to Josh Young with 2 great innings to finish up the victory.
The Fall World Series ended in a tie at 1-1-1. Both teams earned steak dinners but also took field duty. The Chargers will officially take the field in early March of 2016.
