Johnson Named OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week

The Ohio Community College Athletic Association (OCCAC) has named Edison State Community College sophomore Kailah Johnson (Notre Dame Academy) an OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week for February 7–13, 2022.

Johnson adds her fifth weekly honor, putting up a total of 48 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, and three assists in the Lady Chargers' two wins. She shined brightest in the spotlight of a marquee match-up, good for 25 points, seven boards, and three steals as Edison State solidified its spot atop the OCCAC standings with a 90-60 blasting of D-III's top-ranked squad in Owens. Johnson didn't slack off in game two of the week either, tacking on 23 more points against Lorain County. She was good for a 56% (19-34) shooting percentage for the week.

The Lady Chargers are 21-0 overall and 8-0 in the OCCAC.
