Edison Names Lady Charger Basketball Coach

With over 30 years of coaching experience, Tim McMahon makes a return to Edison Community College as the head coach of the women's basketball team. McMahon's experience as coach in both the high school and collegiate level will provide him with an advantage as he leads the lady Chargers in upcoming seasons. 

"I'm fortunate to have been able to work with so many coaches over the years, giving me the opportunity to grow as a coach and create lasting relationships that will help with future recruiting efforts," said Tim McMahon, head women's basketball coach. 

McMahon began his coaching career at Lehman High School and Botkins High School where he was the boy's freshman basketball coach for 8 years. To take his career to the next level, McMahon joined Botkins High School as the assistant varsity coach for the girl's basketball team where he helped lead the team to two S.C.A.L. League Championships and earn them the title of Regional Runner-Ups. 

In 2002, McMahon began coaching at the collegiate level as the assistant women's basketball at Edison Community College. He spent the next five years helping to lead the lady Chargers to a 78-38 record. 

"I am very excited to return to Edison to coach! I enjoyed coaching at the collegiate level in the past and knew that this was an opportunity I didn't want to pass up," added McMahon. 

The team began practicing October 1 and McMahan is already looking forward to the upcoming season. "There are a lot of experienced girls on the team, so I have high expectations for the upcoming season. We're getting better everyday, working to bring our skills to the level needed to compete."
