Azende Johnson, of Columbus, Ohio, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Edison State in the upcoming season.
Azende Johnson, of Columbus, Ohio, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Edison State Community College beginning in the 2016-17 season.
For the last four years, Johnson played as a guard for Walnut Ridge High School in Columbus, Ohio. During the 2014-2015 season, Johnson helped lead the Scots to a City League South championship, District Championship, Regional Championship, and the school's first final four birth in over 44 years. He led the team in both three-pointers made and three-point shooting percentage.
During the 2015-2016 season, Johnson was selected as a team captain by his peers. He helped lead the Scots to an 18-7 record, and another City League South title. With a genuine love for the game, Johnson has come on strong the past two seasons, averaging 12 PPG, and scoring 20+ points in 6 games, hitting many clutch shots. Taking on the role of one of the most talented 6th men in the city of Columbus, Johnson shot 35% from the 3-point line.
Johnson will major in business while attending Edison State Community College.
