Recently finishing out their seasons, five Edison State Community College softball and baseball players have been named recipients of post-season awards from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) for the 2019 season.
Camille Odle was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Tuesday, driving in four on three hits to lead Edison State past the University of Northwestern Ohio 17-2 on Tuesday. Odle drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the first, and a single in the second.
Edison State Community College watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 2-0 loss to Mercyhurst North East on Saturday. Mercyhurst North East took the lead on a single in the second inning.
Edison State Community College stayed in it until the end, but Mercyhurst North East pulled away late in a 15-12 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at 12 with Mercyhurst North East batting in the top of the sixth when Tori Smith threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Mercyhurst North East.
Five hits from Lexie Long helped lead the way for the Edison State Community College Lady Chargers over the University of Cincinnati–Clermont 23-4 on Sunday. Long doubled in the first, doubled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the sixth, and homered in the sixth.
The Edison State Community College Athletics Department and The Edison Foundation are partnering to host the tenth annual Charger Athletics Reverse Raffle event on Thursday, March 21, at 6 p.m. in the Robinson Theater at the Piqua Campus.
