Coach Hickman, of Sidney, Ohio, who has 29 years of head coaching experience at both the collegiate and high school levels enters his 2nd season as the men’s head basketball coach at Edison State Community College. After a very successful inaugural year, Coach Hickman returns the Chargers back to their winning ways posting a 17-14 record.

Hickman began his coaching career at Graceland College in Indiana where he spent three seasons leading the men’s basketball team to a 53-28 winning record, Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Co-Championship, and a final four appearance in the NSCAA National Championship. During his time at Graceland College, Hickman also received the coveted Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award.

Hickman spent a combined total of 17 years as head basketball coach at Troy Christian High School, Miami East High School, Bethel High School, and Parkway High School where he was instrumental in leading players to District Championships, Regional Runner-Up honors, Conference Championships, and earning OHSAA Top Ten State ranking three times. Overall, he held a 201-187 winning record in the OHSAA.

Outside of coaching, Hickman is an intervention teacher for grades 9-12 at Parkway High School in Rockford, Ohio.
