The Edison State Men's Basketball Team defeated Southern State Community College Friday night 81-61 extending their record to 9-4 on the season.
The Southern State Patriots proved to be very scrappy early allowing the Chargers only a narrow lead through the first ten minutes of play. Threes by both Landrum and Ledbetter pushed the Chargers out front by 16 at the intermission 46-30. The Chargers took command in the second half extending the lead to as much as 27.
Christopher Landrum, II (Troy Christian) gave Edison State his first double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Hadith Tiggs (Wayne) added 13 points, Dae'Shawn Jackson (Springfield) 12 points 7 boards and 5 assists while Dusty Poteet (Troy Christian) and Zach Ledbetter (Vandalia Butler) added 11 each to the cause.
The Chargers will be on the road Saturday, January 14th to take on Hocking Community College at 3:00 p.m.
