Twenty-Seven Student-Athletes Named to All-Academic Team

Twenty-seven student-athletes from Edison State Community College have received Academic All-Conference honors from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) for Fall 2018 semester. To qualify, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 credit hours with a 3.30 GPA.

"I couldn't be prouder of this group of student-athletes. They're giving their all on and off the court and field and this is what they have to show for it," said Nate Cole, Athletic Director at Edison State.

Members of the women's volleyball team earning honors include Leah Herdman of Springfield (4.0 GPA), Miranda Hickey of Jackson Center, Kathryn Lee of Tipp City (4.0 GPA), and Vanessa Winner of Jackson Center.

Earning honors from the men's basketball team are Cameron Arnold of Sidney and Jaedyn Carter of Columbus (4.0 GPA).

Eight of the women's basketball team earned honors, including Elysabette Andrews of Lima, Lauryn Gray of Piqua, Brogan McIver of Sidney, Rebekah New of Houston (4.0 GPA), Sarah Pothast of Wapakoneta, Kennadie Reese of Jackson Center, Marin Reis of Centerville, and Kayla Tullis of Urbana.

Henry Barwick of Vandalia (4.0 GPA), Jake Clements of Loveland (4.0 GPA), Casey Jones of Brookville, Joey Pryor of Englewood, Dylan Welch of Vandalia, and Kolby Wooten of Springfield represent the baseball team in academic excellence. 

The softball team was represented in academic excellence by Wendy Hawk of Washington Court House (4.0 GPA), Ruth Holland of Urbana (4.0 GPA), Hanna Oaks of West Milton (4.0 GPA), Lexi Romine of Enon, Hallie Snyder of Troy (4.0 GPA), Kacie Tackett of Pleasant Hill (4.0 GPA), and Maddi Weaver of Springfield.

Edison State Community College is one of ten participating members of the OCCAC. The college also competes in Region XII as a Division II member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in men's baseball and women's softball, men's and women's basketball, and women's volleyball.
